Ensure that company network remains in full service 24 hours per day and that users are fully supported

Reports to: IT Director

Job Duties:
Troubleshoot and correct reported network problems and performance issues.
Design, implement new solutions.
Work in a team of 2-3.
Assume primary responsibility for a subset of the network infrastructure based on skills and team needs. For instance, perhaps three of the following: cabling, PCs, patches, antispam, antivirus, video cameras, Exchange, firewall.
Set-up new users, train and re-train as required.
Perform scheduled maintenance on network hardware and software.
Monitor networks for unreported problems and take corrective action.
Stay abreast of new software and hardware releases, evaluate, recommend implementation and develop implementation schedule with management.
Develop and maintain documentation as directed.
Keep track of IT equipment as directed.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors.
Other project duties as assigned.

Education/Training:
Bachelor s Degree, or Associate s Degree with Network Certification. 3+ years work experience.

Core required technical skills:
Dns, dhcp, Active Directory, Windows 7, CAT5/6 cabling

Preferred technical skills:
Cisco, Hyper-V, VOiP, ShoreTel, Windows Server 2008/2012, group policies, printers, colocation

Other required skills:
Attention to detail
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to express thoughts clearly in both verbal and written form.
Ability to train others in procedures/processes, accurately measure the comprehension of the trainee and develop retraining program as appropriate.
Ability to oversee a process from beginning to end, recognizing obstacles, determining solutions and expediting completion.
Understanding of interpersonal relationships.
Understanding of customer service, both internal and external.
